In a residential area, not far from the town center, a 1,000 sq m building plot is for sale. The plot has private access and can be developed over 500 sq m. It is possible to build a property with a total area of 100 sq m plus outbuildings. A project plan for the land is underway to maximize its potential for development.
LESA
Lesa (also known in Piedmontese and Lombard dialect) is a municipality of 2,402 inhabitants in the province of Novara. It is the northernmost of the municipalities in the province located on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Alessandro Manzoni loved to stay in Lesa, at the villa of his second wife Teresa Borri, widow Stampa. During these stays he frequented the blessed philosopher Antonio Rosmini who lived in Stresa. Solcio is a hamlet located on the lake shore, between Meina and Lesa: its parish church of San Rocco is interesting, built in neoclassical style by the local philanthropist Felice Borroni in the first half of the 19th century to a design by Bartolomeo Franzosini (1768 - 1853), with frescoes in the pendentives of the dome (the four Evangelists) by Gerolamo Induno. Also in Solcio di Lesa, in Villa Cavallini, a fresco by Luigi Morgari (1924) depicting Dancing Girls in a landscape scene of this same locality. The Milanese painter Siro Penagini also lived and had his studio in Solcio, who died in Solcio in 1952 and is buried here. The two hamlets, Calogna and Comnago, are small and charming villages in the surrounding hills. With Belgirate and Meina it forms the Union of Municipalities of Vergante. Until 1923, Lesa was the head of the district of the same name, thus enjoying considerable administrative importance. The Lesa district included Lesa with the present-day hamlets of Solcio, Calogna, and Comnago; Belgirate; Brovello-Carpugnino with the present-day hamlet of Graglia Piana; Gignese with Vezzo and Nocco; Massino Visconti; Nebbiuno with Fosseno; Corciago and Tapigliano; Pisano; Stresa with Brisino; Vedasco; Vignolo; Magognino; Stropino; and Sovazza (now a hamlet of Armeno, which at the time was part of the Orta San Giulio district).
