It is the central and fundamental axis on which, starting from the first decades of the twentieth century, a strong presence of Chinese immigrants developed, so that the entire area between the streets of Procaccini, Montello and Canonica is called Milan's Chinatown. 2010 and 2011 the entire via Sarpi was the subject of a profound urban redevelopment, with the pavement of the road along its entire length, which was transformed into an elegant pedestrian street suitable for bikes, adorned with flower beds and trees.
