Val Serina - Bracca: in a characteristic historic village, a two-level detached house recently renovated. The solution is divided into a large living room with fireplace, kitchenette, pantry. Upstairs, double bedroom, bathroom and double balcony. Large outdoor area of property. Bracca is located at the end of Val Serina, side of Val Brembana, about 25 kilometers north of the capital. The municipality is part of the Brembana Valley Mountain Community. The origins of the town seem to date back to the 1st century BC, at the time of Roman domination, when the entire Serina valley was reunited under the town hall of Bergamo. Also the etymological origin of the toponym would seem to date back to that period: it seems indeed that in these territories a person called Braccu had an important role. The main attraction is the aforementioned mineral water industry, of which it is possible to admire a Liberty-style hotel. It is also noteworthy the route of the valley bottom road which, bordered by the Ambria stream, is inserted in a breathtaking natural environment. The gorges in fact, excavated by the erosion of the stream, fall sheer to the road and, during the winter period, allow the formation of ice stalactites. In the religious context the parish church, dedicated to St. Andrew, is of great importance. Built in 1872 in place of a religious building of the seventeenth century, it preserves inside a silver chalice of great value, dating back to the fifteenth century. The parish church of the hamlet of Cornalta is also worth mentioning. Built in the seventeenth century and dedicated to San Bartolomeo, it preserves valuable paintings, including one by Carlo Ceresa. The very interesting is the folkloristic festival, which takes place at the end of the summer season, called Festa della castagna, renowned for its point to rush people from all over the province. The origins of the town seem to date back to the first century BC, at the time of Roman domination, when the whole Serina valley was reunited under the town hall of Bergamo. Also the etymological origin of the toponym would seem to date back to that period: it seems indeed that in these territories such an called Braccus had an important role. In medieval times the village was not affected by particular clashes between Guelphs and Ghibellines, but was nevertheless endowed, probably for preventive purposes, of towers and fortifications, of which some ruins remain in the Botta locality. In fact, the town is the first village to be found by climbing Val Serina from the Brembana Valley, and was located on the road that connected to the Via Mercatorum, a commercially favorable situation that could have made the country subject to external assaults. Only with the construction of the road on the valley floor, along the Serina torrent, the town lost its commercial vocation, forcing the inhabitants to devote themselves to other activities, such as agriculture and wool manufacturing.--05e3bb939c0686ad2e86e6da72c7a832!
