2025 is a year full of design events: from the Venice Architecture Biennale to the Osaka Expo, here is a month-by-month selection of some of the events not to be missed in 2025 in Italy and around the world.

Design exhibitions and fairs to see in January 2025

The design year begins as usual with Maison&Objet, the decoration, design and lifestyle event scheduled to take place from 16 to 20 January in Paris, at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre. This year’s theme is Sur/Reality, surrealism in design.

The Nike: Form Follows Motion exhibition at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein (Germany) runs until 18 May 2025. This is the first ever exhibition dedicated to the American sportswear giant, looking back over five decades of design-led products.

Design exhibitions and fairs to see in February 2025

From 3 to 9 February, fly to Stockholm for Stockholm Design Week, a seven-day event that brings the whole city to life, with the chance to discover new talents directly in their studios and workshops.

The main trade fair event is Stockholm Furniture at the Stockholmsmässan exhibition centre.

From 8 to 16 March, fans of antiques and contemporary collectables will gather at Mercanteinfiera, the Parma event where you can find vintage pieces or rarities to decorate your home and give your interiors a unique touch.

April is the most anticipated month for design enthusiasts: from 8 to 13 April 2025 the Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano (Milan International Furniture Fair) returns. This is the global benchmark event for the design industry, traditionally held in the Rho Fiera exhibition centre.

From 13 April to 13 October, mark your calendar for the Expo Osaka 2025, with the Italian pavilion designed by architect Mario Cucinella, a commendable project, with an assembled, disassembled and reusable wooden structure.

Design exhibitions and fairs to see in May 2025

The Venice International Architecture Exhibition begins on 10 May and will attract visitors from all over the world to the lagoon until 23 November. Now in its nineteenth edition, the biennial exhibition entitled Intelligens is curated by the architect Carlo Ratti.

From 13 May to 9 November, there’s another major event: at the Triennale in Milan, the 24th International Exhibition, entitled Inequalities, on the subject of great inequalities.

From 18 to 20 June 3daysofdesign will be held in Copenhagen, a three-day event that condenses the best of Danish creativity, with events scattered throughout the city, in workshops and showrooms.

From 11 July to 5 October, More than human will be at the Design Museum in London, an exhibition that combines art, science and radical thinking and investigates the role of design in helping the planet to thrive by looking beyond human needs.

From 13 to 21 September it’s the turn of the London Design Festival, the design week that energises the entire British capital and attracts onlookers, architects, designers, students, curators, experimenters, artists and all kinds of creative people.

From 22 to 26 September Cersaie, the exhibition of ceramics for architecture and bathroom furnishings, returns to Bologna. A regular event for those working in the sector, but also for those who are renovating their homes and are on the lookout for new trends in ceramics.

From 23 to 26 September Marmomac, the stone materials exhibition at Verona Fiere. The most futuristic applications of stone and the most innovative machinery will be on display, but there will also be meetings and exhibitions.

Design exhibitions and fairs to see in October 2025

From 10 to 12 October the design community will meet at Edit Napoli, the editorial and author design fair conceived six years ago by Emilia Petruccelli and Domitilla Dardi. Yet another opportunity to (re)discover the fascinating city of Naples.
