Primark in Milan, in Via Torino: for the first time, in the city centre

On 6 April 2022, Primark opened a new store in the very centre of Milan, in Via Torino. Let’s take a look at this new store, the first one to be located outside a shopping centre.

The new Primark store in Milan, the ninth in Italy, is opening in via Torino. It is located in the historic building that once housed Fnac and then Trony. The surface area of this Primark is in line with the large spaces that customers are used to seeing in shopping centres: five floors covering over five thousand square metres, 35 changing rooms, 48 checkouts, mobile phone charging areas, and wi-fi. Inside, however, the company has been a little more daring: the design and layout of the new Primark in Via Torino is inspired by the city of Milan.

Primark focuses on sustainability

Another new feature is a sort of shop within a shop: a 90 square metre area dedicated to the Primark Cares collection, made with recycled or sustainably sourced materials. And, speaking of sustainability, one of Primark’s objectives is to eliminate single-use plastic from garments and shops.

The first Primark shop in the city centre

For Primark, which has over 400 shops worldwide, the store in Via Torino is something new: it is their first shop in the city centre, on a famous shopping street, and no longer inside a shopping centre. The company’s regional headquarters for Italy have also been moved to the offices above the shop.
