How long does it take to see Rome?

Some say that a lifetime is not enough to visit Rome-there is always a new corner to discover in the Eternal City. But, if you want to see all the main attractions without rushing and savor a bit of the Roman “dolce vita,” carve out at least four or five days in the capital.

Rome is a large and chaotic city. The main tourist attractions can be reached on foot (if you have enough time). Alternatively, one can get around by subway, bus, streetcar, trolleybus, bike share services or electric scooters). Car is not recommended because of the huge LTZ and traffic congestion.
