Farmhouse Località Mulino delle Pile, Chiusdino

The ancient Mulino delle Pile in Chiusdino is a cottage on the Merse river with an adjoining mill, completely covered in ocher-colored stones and bricks, typical elements of the Tuscan countryside. It was founded in the thirteenth century by the monks of the nearby Serena Abbey and is not too far from inhabited centers and important cities such as Siena and Massa Marittima.
It was selected as the ideal set for a famous commercial in 1989, thus becoming the symbol of a very famous Italian brand from that moment on. For this occasion, renovation works were carried out by covering the mill with white plaster, with which it would later become recognizable in the eyes of the general public. Over the years, more than 13 million people have visited this location, with a daily presence from 50 to 200, curious to find here the familiar and happy atmosphere of the historic commercials.
Starting from the 2000s, the mill was then transformed into an agritourism and restaurant with swimming pool (called precisely Mulino delle Pile) and is the subject of many requests for the celebration of ceremonies and the creation of television commercials.
The structure, based on two main buildings plus a series of outbuildings, has an area of about 1100 square meters. plus a 20,000 m2 garden with a beautiful swimming pool and about 20 hectares of irrigated arable land. A part of the structure also houses a small museum that tells the story of the operation of the mill and the work of the miller.
It is currently an important Farmhouse with Restaurant divided as follows:
Main building:
– entrance hallway, corridor with changing rooms and bathrooms on the ground floor;
– large restaurant with mill area, two bathrooms with anteroom, warehouse, kitchen with oven and pantry;
– bathroom with hallway on the mezzanine floor;
– living room with storage room on the first floor;
– hall with seven bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen area and engine room (museum) on the second floor;
– four mezzanines of the bedrooms and room built in the tower on the third floor;
– room built in the tower on the fourth floor;
Second Building: (located in front of the main one)
– large living room with bathroom on the ground floor;
– bedroom with bathroom, on the first floor;
– kitchen with bedroom and bathroom on the second floor;
– technical rooms for the heating and water treatment system;
– buildings and a farmhouse.
