The building, dating back to around the 12th century, was owned by the Chiaravalle Abbey and constituted one of the operating structures of the convent: it partly housed the monks' residence, while the remaining portion was dedicated to all their activities. The building intervention called "Era Novum Grangia" has the ambition to raise the quality of life of the residents of the village and to enhance the environment that surrounds them.
