The villa is located on the border with Argegno, in the Intelvi Valley, which connects Lake Como with Lake Lugano, in Switzerland.
was built in 1766 by an Austrian aristocratic family and took its name from the owner Countess Gina, who
later became the protagonist of Stendhal's novel "The Monastery of Parma".
At the end of the 9th century, the villa came into the possession of family of the famous Italian artist Baldassare Longoni, his paintings are kept in the villa; the central street of the ancient village of Dizzasco, where the Villa is located, is named in his honour.
In 2011 Villa Gina was completely restored, the original stuccos and ceilings were rebuilt, the floors were replaced with handmade tiles and rare types of marble, no longer existing.
Now the walls are decorated with frescoes in the ancient Italian technique of graffiti, the work was commissioned from the famous master, who is normally and exclusively engaged in the restaurant of architectural monuments. The hall and the small living room are decorated with hand-made wallpaper, the original stamps of which are now protected by UNESCO and date from the beginning of the 17th century.
The fireplace room and all bedrooms are decorated with boards of natural silks produced by the best family factories on Lake Como. The 18th century MURANO chandelier used to decorate the Chinese Embassy in Paris (a one-of-a-kind, one-of-a-kind specimen in the world) and now adorns Villa Gina with its brilliance. The 800m2 villa is located in a quiet location in the Valle Intelvi, surrounded by a flower garden in every season with rare old trees and offers a breathtaking view of Lake Como. The villa consists of nine large rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, each with a unique view of the lake and mountains. On the ground floor of the villa there is a large terrace overlooking Lake Como, a large entrance hall, a living room with fireplace, a dining room, a kitchen with fireplace, a bathroom.
