A beautiful tourist destination, Sirmione stands on a thin strip of land that divides the lower part of Lake Garda between the gulfs of Peschiera and Desenzano. Those who go to Sirmione must first of all admire the marvelous Scaliger Castle, a work built between the XIII and XIV centuries which in ancient times it represented a stronghold guarding the only southern access point to the historic center of the city. Visitors to this enchanting town must then admire the Grotta di Catullo, a Roman domus whose construction is believed to have taken place between the 1st century BC. C. and the 1st century AD

The beaches
Sirmione is a sought-after holiday resort also for its magnificent beaches overlooking Lake Garda. First of all, let us recall the free beach of Punta Grò, a real natural oasis where it is also possible to visit the Galeazzi beach which offers beach volleyball courts, canoes, pedal boats and renowned refreshment points. Finally, we point out Punta Staffalo located near the historic center of Sirmione. This is the easiest beach to reach. At the Lido Bremen, 3 kilometers from the centre, however, you can practice kite surfing and canoeing. Finally, other beaches to see are those of Lido di Lugana and Lido Parrocchiale.
