Serre Foresti is a village of San Damiano Macra which rises to 886 meters above sea level, mainly made up of renovated solutions. The toponym derives from greenhouses, of pre-Latin derivation, which would indicate "high, superior". The term defines a settlement on grassy shelves located in an elevated, safe and sunny position. Fourèst, Italianised Foresti, is probably an ancient word of Celtic origin with the meaning of forest, thus indicating some small groupings of farmhouses in wooded sites far from the capital, almost never stable but only seasonal settlements. This village, distinguished in its liveliness, is located in the center of a very wooded area mainly occupied by chestnut trees.

The agglomeration can be reached via a comfortable asphalted municipal road which opens the passage in one of the side valleys of which San Damiano has.
