The rural complex to be restored is located in the Tenere di Avola antica, in Contrada Molinello, on a hill that slopes gently towards the surrounding plain enjoying a splendid view of the Ionian Sea. The lot as a whole extends over approximately 6 hectares and all the buildings, built at the end of the 19th century, exceed 600 square metres. The authorized project concerns the renovation of the existing masseria complex in order to use it as a tourist-accommodation structure, a deliberately small and discreet Sicilian retreat, a refuge away from the hustle and bustle of life.
Two design solutions have been thought of:
– the first maintains the original characteristics of the building, preserving the architectural flavor of the time for which the building permit was obtained with the obligations fulfilled. (As per Project 1 in the Image Gallery)

– the second (variant) solution, more modern but well contextualised, involves a fusion of old and new in an eclectic style where historical fragments meet contemporary taste, an elegantly silent project, to bring out the physicality of nature, respect the traces of the past and satisfy the needs of travellers.
