Dormelletto Gallic necropolis near the town hall. About fifty tombs have been excavated since 1987, the oldest of which date back to the period between the end of the third and the beginning of the first century BC. Numerous artifacts have also been found such as bronze anklets and bracelets, iron fibulae, ceramic pots, peasant sickles, a few spear points and the remains of a shield. In 2006, following some excavations for the reconstruction of the elementary school, dozens of new tombs were found, suggesting the presence of a huge funerary complex. Along the Piedmontese shore of Lake Maggiore, between Arona and Castelletto Ticino, for an approximate length of four kilometers and an area of about 157 hectares, extends the special nature reserve of the Canneti di Dormelletto which, together with the special nature reserve Fondo Toce, represents the unique example of bank vegetation dominated by the fragmiteto (commonly known as reed marsh) on the western shore of the lake. The reserve, which is an important study site for local avifauna, houses Villa Tesio, home to a thoroughbred horse farm, and a valuable agricultural complex home to the last English purebred kennel of the "Dormello-Olgiata" breed to which famous horses such as Nearco, Bellini, Donatello II and the famous Ribot belonged.
