The two streets are located a few hundred meters from each other. In 1927, following the reorganization of the Provincial Districts established by Royal Decree N°1 of 2 January 1927, by will of the fascist government, when the province of Viterbo was established, the town passed from the province of Rome to that of Viterbo. In 1949 the municipality changed its name from Bassanello to Vasanello. Among the most traditional, widespread and renowned economic activities are artisanal ones, such as the art of ceramics and terracotta. In the main square stands the Orsini Castle (12th century); the first lords of the castle were the Orsini. In 1505, with the marriage of the daughter of Giulia Farnese "the beautiful" and Orsino Orsini, the castle passed to the Della Rovere family. In 1534 Stefano Colonna became the new lord and in 1787 the fiefdom passed to the Barberini-Colonna family of Sciarra. In 1907 the castle was purchased by Monsignor Misciattelli who completely restored it. Subsequently his nephew, Marquis Professor Paolo Misciattelli Mocenigo Soranzo, established a production of artistic ceramics of fine workmanship. The quality of "Ceramica Bassanello" is demonstrated by orders from big names and attested by the artistic direction of masters from Faenza. Recently the castle was inherited by her daughter, Donna Elena Misciattelli, who started a work of valorization through the creation of a medieval garden and conservative interventions, aimed at the creation of a Ceramics Museum.
