Piazza Brembana is an Italian municipality of 1,201 inhabitants[1] in the province of Bergamo in Lombardy. Located north of Bergamo and at the confluence between the two branches of the Brembo river, it is surrounded by the Orobie Prealps and is the capital of the Brembana Valley Mountain Community. The name Piazza Brembana seems to derive from the name of the river that runs through the town: the Brembo river. In fact it would seem that, etymologically, the meaning of the root brem, in a pre-Roman language, was for "to resonate". Most likely due to the torrential flow that seemed to "resonate" chattering in the Valley.
