The mullioned windows cut out in the caponiera, together with the fake gunports and the fake guns inserted in the masonry in the hand guard represent recent results. Inside the fence, the layout of the northern ditch and a retractable cannon emplacement can be distinguished, raised if necessary by means of a system of counterweights.
Capable of accommodating a garrison of 150 men, the fort was used as a projectile depot for occasional batteries after the First World War, then disarmed and decommissioned around the middle of the last century, finally alienated from the State Property to private individuals.
