GOMBITELLI: This lovely stone country house renovated in 2020 is for sale in the village of Gombitelli. The entrance is through a stone arch, passing through a natural tunnel of Canadian vine and wisteria which explodes in red in autumn. Welcomed into the fairy-tale court, it seems like being immersed in the Middle Ages. A beautiful well serves as a collection of rainwater useful for watering the small garden. Once you enter the house, dating back to the early 1600s, you cannot fail to appreciate the meticulous conservative renovation carried out by the owners: all the ancient materials such as the terracotta floor, stone details such as the beautiful decorated fireplace and the original wooden beams have been maintained. On the ground floor there is the kitchen, the living room with the dining table and finally the study where, on clear days, you can see the sea in the distance from a window. Going up the stone stairs, we find two bedrooms and a bathroom. The windows are all certified double glazing. Radiator heating works with gas/LPG cylinders. Outside the house, there is a lovely mini turret elevated on two floors and used as a laundry area and storage room. Finally, two cellars useful for storing wine and various tools. Gombitelli was famous for its iron craftsmen so much so that during the First World War, its blacksmiths were tasked with fitting all the Italian soldiers' winter boots with nails. Inside this house, in one of its two cellars, remains the only instrument in the whole town still intact.
