In the ancient town of Mistretta, in a suggestive mountain-sea combination where the gaze runs from the wooded Nebrodi mountains to the sea of the Aeolian Islands, we offer for sale a prestigious residence rich in history.
The property is located within the complex of one of the palaces of the Salamone-Giaconia family, as can be seen from the heraldic emblem present on the entrance portal and in numerous other sites belonging to the same family: the crown which expresses royalty, power and protection; the star of David, which denotes the family's Jewish origins; the outstretched arm holding a small sword to symbolize the struggle that precedes victory; the half-wing of a bird, symbol of the achievement of distant goals; finally, the two overlapping walls, which represent the continuous commitment to work.
Vincenzo Salamone (Mistretta, 1851-1925), patriarch of the family, mayor of the town several times and senator of the kingdom, always tried to improve the living conditions of his fellow villagers.
Sensitive to social problems, he lavished his commitment, even economic, in favor of the less well-off classes. He was responsible for the construction of the urban aqueduct and the creation of the coal-fired power plant that supplied electricity to the town. The residence of over 300 m2 is spread over three levels: on the street level a large entrance gives access to a first bedroom, a living room/study onto which a second room opens, a service bathroom on the floor and finally the large kitchen. From this a steep staircase leads to the basement, once home to the herds serving the building, today technical rooms where the boilers and water engines were located. There is also a small cellar. Included in the price is also a warehouse of approximately 46 m2. A sumptuous marble staircase, with a wrought iron balustrade, leads to the first floor of the building. A small vestibule leads to the large ballroom, adorned with fine period furnishings and a flamboyant flooring in classic polychrome majolica, all crowned by a splendid frescoed ceiling (restored in the 1980s). The floor is completed by the master bedroom (also frescoed), the toilet and another large living-dining room with adjoining kitchen area.--c7aa9112cdf3fdfea6eb647a91da0265!
