Chianni is a small medieval center of Etruscan origin, in the past disputed between the bishop of Volterra and the Republic of Pisa, before definitively passing under the dominion of Florence, at the beginning of the 15th century.
Inserted in an area surrounded by the typical Tuscan countryside, Chianni is an ideal place for long walks in nature, in particular the cultivated hills and the magnificent oak forests, from which some of the most renowned products in the area are obtained, the main ingredients of some of the typical dishes that are celebrated every year during ancient and very popular festivals. A true paradise for lovers of food and wine and landscape itineraries.

The town has been known for centuries for its cultivation, in fact, the Chianni extra virgin olive oil is born right here, an oil with an intense colour, with a low degree of acidity and with a fruity taste.

Chianni is located at the end of one of the routes of the Strada del Vino delle Colline Pisane, an itinerary through the Pisan Hills, the Valdera, the Lower Valdarno up to the Val di Cecina, which combines wine tasting and other local products with visits to picturesque villages.
In particular, in this area the Bianco Pisano di San Torpè has been produced since very ancient times.

The other protagonist of local gastronomy is certainly the truffle, in particular the white truffle of the hills Sanminiatesi, one of the most prized in Italy.
