LOCATION - La Selva is an enchanting village on the slopes of Mount Amiata, in Santa Fiora. It is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, awarded with the Orange Flag for tourism.
This area has a long history dated back to the year one thousand when the Benedictine monks settled in the Convent of the Holy Trinity, donated by the Aldobrandeschi Counts who ruled the area.
The legend surrounding this land comes from the presence of a crocodile head, at the time mistaken for a dragon, preserved in the convent church.
The main attractions in the area are: the Saturnia hot springs, Lake Bolsena and the cities built in the Tufo rock- Sorano, Pitigliano and Sovana
