LOCATION AND CONTEXT

Gardone Val Trompia is an Italian municipality of 11,375 inhabitants in the province of Brescia, in the middle Val Trompia, in Lombardy. In 1927 the municipalities of Inzino and Magno, currently hamlets, were added to the municipality of Gardone Val Trompia. On 17 September 2001, Gardone Val Trompia was awarded the title of city, assigned by the President of the Republic Carlo d'Azelio Ciampi by virtue of its historical and civic importance. In fact, since 2002 the golden crown of walls with five towers representing the title of city has been added to the coat of arms of Gardone Val Trompia.
