Around the second half of the 19th century, Arco became a place of holiday and search for well-being for the rich bourgeois and nobles of the Austro-Hungarian empire. Some of them decided to build their villa, including Dr. Theodor Fiedler, who built "VILLA WINDOBONA", the Latin name of the ancient city of Pannonia which stood on the site of today's Vienna. After various changes of ownership, the villa was purchased in 1957 by Mr. Depaoli who lived in it as his main residence until it was inherited by his children who divided it into three residential units.
The main floor of the villa is now for sale, looking for a buyer who can feel the history that pervades these spaces and appreciate the particularity of its environments where everything has been studied and which, still today, maintains its original characteristics.
The villa was renovated in the early 70s, the heating guaranteed by the beautiful Ole stoves is now supported by a methane heating system, the windows have been replaced with new PVC and double glazed windows of the same shape and size, keeping the shutters unchanged which, according to the custom of the time, were inside the house. The doors are original and almost always double, born from the need to have a filter in order to keep the heat in the rooms. The floors are made of oak wood and everywhere the walls are embellished with plaster reliefs. In 2013, important renovation and painting work was carried out on the facades.
From the balcony of the apartment you can enjoy a pleasant view of the park which measures approximately 1,800 m2 in total, a meeting and relaxation space for the inhabitants of the villa.
