This building was built after the First World War, based on a design by Gustavo Tognetti, for the lawyer Sante Boscaro, an entrepreneur, and offers a classical repertoire and has, in addition to the ground floor, three upper floors. On the first and second floors there are four French windows with balconies (two central ones, which overlook a single balcony, and two lateral ones) and two windows. Piazza del Carmine, inserted in the historic "Stampace" district, is of considerable interest, both from an urban planning and social point of view, as it constitutes one of the places where the public dimension of the city is intertwined with the private events of the families and economic groups who gave an essential contribution to the transformation of Cagliari in a bourgeois sense. The current square, probable seat of the forum in Roman times, still appeared in the first decades of the nineteenth century as a dirt road, outside the town centre.
The first projects for the arrangement of the large open space (it was not yet possible to speak of a square) were those of Giuseppe Sbressa and Gaetano Cima, dating back to 1839 and 1842 respectively, both of which were not realised. Furthermore, Cima's project has some importance in the history of the square, as it will determine its current form. In fact, the illustrious architect, starting from the starello, a rectangle of 100 x 50 meters (corresponding to the half hectare then in use in Sardinia), traced the perimeter of the square, which was physically fixed on the ground with the positioning of four marble stones.
