Country house via Carlo Pisacane 10, Pontone, Scala

PONTONE - in the ancient hamlet of the Municipality of Scala, we offer for sale an ancient renovated rural building, consisting of two units with independent entrance, located in a quiet and panoramic position on top of the promontory called Punta d'Aria, with a view that embraces the promontory of Ravello and reaches the sea of Atrani. The building can be reached from the driveway via the 130 steps that descend along the path that leads to the Torre dello Ziro to reach Atrani below, passing through the loggia of the church of S. Maria del Carmine, with a clear Romanesque imprint, the only example in Amalfi coast of a vaulted covered porch. Once you reach the gate you enter the 3,670 m2 garden that surrounds the property and which includes a beautiful tub to be transformed into a swimming pool (see project proposal in the photos). The building is on two levels for a surface area of approximately 65 m2. On the ground floor it consists of a lowered vaulted room with a maximum height of 3.10 meters and a fireplace, bathroom and a technical room; on the first floor, accessible via an external staircase, a single room with a barrel vault with a height of 5.56 metres, a bathroom and a large terrace in front. Outside, in addition to the large pool to be transformed into a swimming pool, there is a small ruin to be used as a storage area. A short distance away is the main square of the town with characteristic restaurants and bars and the bus stop, while with a 20 minute walk you can reach the beaches of Amalfi and Atrani.
A hamlet of the municipality of Scala, Pontone fell within the territory of the municipality of Amalfi until the early 20th century. Picturesque hillside village, it has been appreciated since the Middle Ages for its relaxing atmosphere; for this reason the clergy and nobility of the Amalfi Duchy preferred this village as a place to stay and relax. The town is dominated by noble palaces, bell towers and churches of notable artistic value. The Church of San Giovanni Battista, dating back to the 12th century and remodeled several times over the following centuries, preserves valuable sixteenth-century and baroque paintings (including an interesting Circumcision by Aniello Iannicelli from 1590), a worn tombstone of Filippo Spina in habit chivalric with an inscription from 1346.
Also the Church of San Filippo Neri, although it dates back to the 10th century, has undergone considerable alterations in the following centuries; inside there is a valuable majolica floor, baroque canvases and a stucco crucifix from the 14th century.
The Church of Santa Maria del Carmine, located near the property for sale, has a clear Romanesque imprint with the only example on the Amalfi Coast Amalfi with a covered vaulted portico.
