Magnificent terrace overlooking the ValSeriana and fertile plateau, Parre is the most ancient center of the Eastern Orobie and the historic capital of the valley's sheep farming.
Our walk in the municipality of Parre begins in the lovely historic center where the Parish Church of San Pietro stands out. Numerous works by the Fantoni are preserved inside, among which we highlight the wooden choir and the magnificent high altar and a stupendous sixteenth-century altarpiece, by Giovan Battista Moroni.

After admiring these wonderful works we leave the church and walk along the road uphill which, in a couple of minutes, takes us to the arch of San Cristoforo; inserted in a house from the 1500s on which there is an interesting fresco of the Saint, the arch was a very important point of passage for the community.

Let us now return to the church square and continue along the streets of the historic centre; we first walk along Via Giuseppe Mazzini and then via Roma, then continuing towards Piazza San Rocco, where the ancient church dedicated to the Saint is located, whose origins date back to the end of the 15th century. Not far away, in the Castello area, is the Parra Oppidum degli Orobi Archaeological and Antiquarium Park, which illustrates the centuries-old story of the Oppidum and the activities that were carried out, in particular the metallurgical one. Watching over the small town we find the church of Sant 'Antonio, located in a dominant position on Monte Alino.
