It is in Sicily, in the western part of the island, a few kilometers as the crow flies from the Mediterranean Sea, in a district in the Marsala hinterland, arid limestone land rich in minerals, a precious nutritional element of the vineyards, "neighbor" of the famous “Vecchio Samperi” winery.
The fascinating structure overlooks an ancient “Chiano” municipality,
of which a small private church is part;
once inhabited by families dedicated to work and various productions: harvests olives, grapes, tomatoes, almonds, sesame...; in the now disused rooms you can still find old furniture and you can breathe the air of a time gone by, bringing back to mind sounds and flavors that have now been forgotten. Unfortunately, the structure is not in excellent condition, all that remains of it are: the residential body , the entrance portal, several warehouses, the courtyard. An ancient tuff bench is still visible in the courtyard. The flooring of the residential building is made of hexagonal clay bricks; in the warehouses it is made of rammed earth.
The roof is made up of bricks and tiles resting on wooden planks.
Inside the warehouses there were the "pipè" (small barrels) where the wine or vinocotto or "safune" was stored , wine fermented with the addition of alcohol.--058876a6eabb41c358c89a772082e390!
