REF. FO1319 The building called Palazzo Iacuzio with a surface area of approximately m2. 1,200 and a large internal garden of approximately m2. 1,500, of notable architectural value. It is a courtyard building, closed on all sides, which opens onto a large garden on the side opposite the main entrance hall. From the typological elements it is possible to recognize an original use of a manor house with agricultural functions, which subsequently became, at the end of the last century, more openly residential. From the presumed date on the memorial stone at the base of the stairs, 1780, which is also reconfirmed by the date, 1790, present on the family coat of arms, on the entrance portal, the major phase of architectural organization of the building can be dated to the end of the 18th century. It was subsequently further transformed with the creation, at the beginning of this century, of a new body indicated by the presence of a small loggia. Overall, however, the late eighteenth-century layout has remained unchanged, right down to the paving stones of the courtyard and the stone elements, from the head rooms, to the portals with simple lines, to the shelves. The courtyard is accessed from a stone door decorated according to a traditional motif with roses on the kidneys with the coat of arms in key, dated 1790, passing through a double entrance hall, defined by two consecutive arches, in the interval between which the staircase begins. . A similar system, on the opposite side of the courtyard, leads to the garden and the rear building. The internal rooms are also valuable and well preserved overall. A study by the Superintendency attributes the construction of the building to the will of Giovanni Iacuzio, who arrived in Italy following Don Carlos of Bourbon, declaring that it has always been inhabited by the same family.
