HISTORY NOTES: on the edge of an ancient quarry, where Travertine was extracted, of which the classic "horseshoe" shape can still be seen with the various scalar terraces and where a "ditch" originating from the Moijano springs, called Moije. This water was used to extract and work the Travertine. The 120 m2 building. approx. arranged on three levels, it was built at the beginning of the 17th century on top of a water collection cistern from the Roman era dating back to between the 1st and 2nd century AD. Inside the cistern you can still see the limestone deposit formed by the exit of the aqueduct, also from this period, still visible at a distance of 20 meters from the house. Attached to the property is the ancient Fonte Galletta which still retains its "grooved" stones. In the ceiling of this cistern there are still "holes" where the water was collected with buckets (from 1600 to the beginning of the 1900s). Above the entrance door you can see a Franciscan Tau, from the stories of elders, it seems that the Tau was placed as a home by Hermits in the 18th century. To the north the view is lost between the Church of Santa Chiara and the Cathedral of San Rufino (Patron Saint of the City) To the east you can admire Mount Subasio with the entire Spoleto valley.
