On Monte di Dervio the first town is Vestreno. On the edge of the town, which is experiencing a significant expansion of residential construction, stands the small church of San Giacomo. On its bell tower is the "bell of San Carlo", one of those that Cardinal Borromeo consecrated for the parish church of San Martino di Mont'Introzzo. San Martino is the owner of the fourteenth-century parish of Mont'Introzzo which brings together the three communities of Introzzo, Sueglio and Vestreno around a single church. San Carlo climbed the bell tower to consecrate the bells but today's bell tower is no longer that of the sixteenth century. However, one of the bells from that time continues to ring in Vestreno. From the road that passes near the church of San Martino you can have an interesting view of the very deep Varrone Valley, dark with woods, both in the part that descends towards the lake in Dervio, and in the part that ascends towards Tremenico, over which it looms the Mount of Muggio.
