History of Varese:

The city is the capital of the Prealps region. Thanks to its position, it offers a gentler climate compared to Milan and for this reason, from the 18th century on, it has literally been colonized by the wealthiest Milanese family willing to spend here their time off. The province of Varese is characterized by the presence of 7 lakes and by the proximity with Switzerland and the Alps.
