Maso Funes underwent a radical renovation in the 1980s, which has been consistently maintained over time to preserve it well, as evidenced by the current state of the buildings.
The property was completely rebuilt while preserving the typical aesthetic features of the South Tyrolean "maso," once predominantly rural and now converted for residential use.
The main building, the typical "Hof," has been architecturally restored while maintaining its characteristics and consists of two residential units, with a large building adjacent to it, once used as a barn, also composed of a residential unit and an accessory space (garage/storage).
The residential part of the first building, approximately 430 square meters gross, is structured as follows:
Ground floor: 1 two-room apartment. At this level, there are also technical rooms and accessories for the second unit.
First floor: ascending, we find the living area of the apartment on multiple levels, featuring a charming stube entirely covered in wood, a living room with a lovely alcove carved into the "Erker" (typical protruding window), kitchen, and other rooms including two bathrooms. Additionally, there's a pleasant covered terrace overlooking the courtyard.
Second floor: on the top floor, there's a large living room with a spacious south-facing balcony, accessible also from one of the three bedrooms.
The second building is structured as follows:
Ground and first floor: 1 residential unit of 143 square meters gross divided between living and sleeping areas with two bedrooms.
Ground and first floor: large garage of 150 square meters with a barn above, which can also be accessed from the lawn thanks to the slope at the rear of the building.
The residential units were skillfully finished at the time with floors and roofs made of typical valley wood; rustic furniture, leather furnishings, rugs, drapes, curtains, lighting elements were carefully selected to provide maximum warmth to all spaces. The end result is spacious, elegant, and comfortable areas.
Maso Funes is a large property compared to the surrounding area. The land immediately surrounding the residence measures an area of 26 hectares, of which about 23 hectares are forest, and the rest are meadows, courtyards, and a garden with an outdoor pool, which is uncommon in this region. Everything is perfectly maintained thanks to the collaboration of the property with local labor.
The entire structure is served by a diesel heating system, divided per residential unit, and all systems were implemented to code at the time of their installation. Satellite TV, telephone, and fiber internet connection are present on the property.
The urban planning designation of Maso Funes allows both residential use and partial hospitality activity (e.g., Airbnb), and the peculiarity of the property is that it is rather difficult to find a maso for sale free from destination constraints. This characteristic makes it particularly interesting to
