Pregasina is located at 536 meters above sea level, it once depended on the Municipality of Molina and since 1954 the town has been part of the municipality of Riva del Garda. Until 1953, Pregasina was only accessible by a mule track that went up from Riva del Garda. Then a road was finally built that connected it to the Ponale road via a stone bridge, the Ponale bridge. In 1993, the approximately 950 meter tunnel was completed which connects it directly to the SS 240 state road, just downstream from the fraction of Biacesa. The old road, which from the entrance of the tunnel descends towards the Ponale bridge, was therefore left for pedestrian and cycle use, becoming very popular for those who, going up from Riva del Garda via the Ponale panoramic road, want to reach the breathtaking views of the Punta Larici and the Rocchetta Pass.
