The main house is a large building on 2 floors consisting of 5 rooms, an annex (Il Vecchio Forno) which constitutes a small studio apartment in itself, and 2 terraces.
Il Vecchio Forno, adjacent to the main body, is composed of a sleeping area mezzanine, a bathroom, a kitchen and a small terrace in front of the entrance with an external sink; this small housing unit could be rented independently.
The lower terrace of the main house, which overlooks the ancient church of S. Bartolo, is unusually spacious for Alicudi with spectacular views to the south-east of Etna and Mount Aeolian archipelago up to Stromboli.
This terrace has well-established vines, bougainvillea and plumbago, supported by chestnut beams; traditional stone benches, functional stone sink; wardrobes, niches; columns and a small cistern for collecting rainwater. Some benches have ancient majolica, originating from Palermo.
The upper terrace (roof terrace) enjoys an even wider and more enchanting panorama (of the sea, the islands and the lush greenery of Valle Zanca and the mountains) and leads to the bedroom master bed, with a large en-suite bathroom.
The bedroom has windows and doors on 3 sides, giving wonderful ventilation and light. The roof terrace also has a column, a chestnut beam and a vine, as well as an outdoor shower space.
All ceilings in the rooms of the main house and the Old Oven are supported by chestnut beams and reinforced with steel beams. There are ancient majolica tiles on the threshold of each room. Between these 2 buildings there is a large cistern, connected to a silent pump. This cistern constitutes the main source of water for these 2 buildings.

The house is about 40 minutes walk from the port and it is located 400 meters above sea level (about 800 steps from the port). It borders the Protected Nature Reserve and there is no noise, light or air pollution. All the water comes from winter rains and from the cisterns which store a more than adequate quantity. The house is not connected to the water supply. The entire property is connected to the electricity grid.
