Principina a Mare, which is awarded 5 blue flags every year, is a rather small tourist resort frequented almost entirely by families with children and therefore suitable for those seeking a bit of tranquility.
The town is partially developed under the pine forest (250-900 meters from the beach) and partly outside it (Rio Grande and Rio Piccolo area – 2.5 km from the sea)
The Principina a Mare beach is very large, the depth can be calculated 100 m. approx. while in width it extends for kilometers in a north and south direction. Along the surface of Principina there are 7 bathing establishments as well as large spaces of free beach. The sea level rises gradually and for this reason it is considered very suitable for children.
The location which, as I have already said, is very quiet, offers the opportunity to take an evening walk along its main street where all the activities are concentrated commercial (also our Agency) including bars, ice cream parlors, pizzerias, supermarkets.
The almost non-existent car traffic (only the primary road is a little busy) allows holidaymakers to travel on foot and by bicycle (widely used in Principina) all the roads and lanes that extend into the pine forest in safety.
There is also a cycle path illuminated at night that crosses the pine forest and connects the Rio Grande-Rio Piccolo area to the center of the town and then, after about another 2 km, reaches the southern part of Marina di Grosseto.--0c87ddf1226c6d1a638a9364a6371b40!
