We are pleased to present the great work of this conservative restoration of an eighteenth-century building in the historic center of Turin: the historic Augustinian convent between via delle Orfane and via Santa Chiara is transformed into a contemporary condominium with a multiplicity of forms and uses: a new concept of inhabiting the history and the future at the Quadrilateral of Turin. A new condominium idea has been created, suitable for the contemporary dynamic class of young professionals, PhD students, knowledge commuters and anyone who chooses Turin for a medium term. Inside the old rooms of the convent are transformed into apartments of various sizes, from the open space studio to the many rooms, the result of a study on the single cell extremely functional and minimal but inserted in an existing context. The rationalist concept of "existenz minimum" has influenced the definition of the design of the spaces of the housing units starting from the smallest that develops the need of living a single person in a single environment through careful design of the furniture. Kitchen, table, chairs, pantry, wardrobe, sofa, bed, desk, armchair become a whole, an organic element inside the living unit, they become the living unit. In fact, space is defined through the succession of furnishing elements intended as a hierarchical definition of functional needs in a single environment.
