The building complex called "Palazzo La Genga" is located in the heart of the historic center of Sambuca di Sicilia. Built in the late 1800s by doctor Leonardo La Genga (born in Sambuca di Sicilia in 1853 and died there in 1926), a Sambucese physician and philanthropist, who directly oversaw the design and construction. More recently, during the last century, the building complex was inhabited by the poet Pietro La Genga (born in 1925 and died in 2012) author of a vast literary production in Sicilian and Italian language, well known even beyond the borders of Sicily. From this particular situation the building is now known as "the house of the poet". The building developed - originally - on three floors, to which later some elevations were added. The portion that is for sale, represents the most significant part of the building composed, on the ground floor, by the ancient stable (123.00 sq. M.) Which is accessed from an ancient and characteristic courtyard (47.00 sq. M.) which acts as an entrance. The first floor is accessed with the entrance from Via La Genga. The house is composed of n. 8 rooms plus services (267.00 square meters) and adjacent large barn. Of particular value is the reception hall's floor, made with ancient majolica tiles. The structure is made of local carving stone with load-bearing vaults. The total area covers over 390 square meters.
The building complex, equipped with three entrances, is suitable for use both as a residential residence of particular value and for a receptive tourist use such as B & B.
