Mollieres is a fraction of the municipality of Cesana Torinese. Occitan is spoken there (Patois [Patua ']) (in addition to Italian and Piedmontese). The territory belonging to the hamlet (which was common until 1927) covers a large part (towards the north) of the current municipal territory. In the hamlet there are buildings and architectural elements of great artistic value: near the current town square (near the Maison Guiot) stands the modest architectural complex of the chapel of Sant'Antonio Abate, patron saint of the village. It was built towards the second half of the nineteenth century and until a few years ago it was open to visitors and inhabitants on certain occasions, such as the patronal feast, celebrated on January 17th. Also near the fountain are the old oven and the school (now a sewing studio). Of historical interest there is the war memorial, dedicated to those who died in the First World War '15 -'18. It is a wall decorated at the base with a series of floral elements, while the upper part is made up of a plaque bearing the inscription Mollieres to his fallen children for the homeland and followed by the names of the victims. The Mollieres hamlet is only 4 minutes from the center of Cesana Torinese and from the ski lifts to Sauze d'Oulx / Sansicario / Sestriere / Mountains of the moon (Via Lattea); 90 km from Turin and only 10 km from the Turin / Bardonecchia motorway, Oulx exit.
The concentric of Cesana and the hamlets of Mollieres and Solomiac are located on the historic route of the Via Francigena, in the first stretch in Italian territory coming from Colle del Monginevro and from Claviere and then heading towards the stopover of Oulx.
In winter you can practice skiing, cross-country skiing, bobsleighing, sledding, wonderful walks with snowshoes.
In summer you can practice horse riding, trekking, cycling, tennis or fabulous walks 'en plein air' in the mountain paths; a few Km. golf (Sestriere and Claviere). Just in front of the hamlet we can admire the Chaberton battery also known as the Chaberton fort, it is a fortification erected by the Royal Army in the upper Susa Valley between 1898 and 1910, with subsequent further interventions. Located on the top of Mount Chaberton at 3130m above sea level, it is still the highest fort in Europe. '
