Tradition indicates this building, located in the historic center of Valduggia, as the birthplace of the famous painter Gaudenzio Ferrari, born around 1475, one of the greatest exponents of Italian Renaissance painting, considered one of the seven "governors" of the "temple of painting" together with Mantegna, Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Leonardo, Raphael and Titian.
The current shape and consistency of the building, which precisely due to its historical value and the architectural elements present is placed under the protection of the "Superintendency of Cultural Heritage and environmental", derive from interventions that took place starting from the 16th century, the century to which the central nucleus of the building dates back.
The 16th century layout is attested by the beautiful vaults of the halls, the coffered ceiling and the monumental fireplace, attributed to the Master Lapicida HW, as well as the date MDLXXVII (1577) carved on the valuable wooden door of the façade.
The elevation of the southern area and of the atrium and staircase sector, with the arched loggia of the second floor and with the major external decorations date this intervention back to mid-eighteenth century.
The building has a total commercial area of approximately 729m2 spread over three floors of approximately 243m2 each plus an attic floor, which is not habitable; the living area is approximately 426m2. The property includes a small plot of land located at the back of the building where we find two brick buildings, one with a covered area of 80m2 divided into two floors and one, once used as a warehouse, arranged on one floor with a covered area of 40m2
The house, as well as being a building of great charm and historical importance, is located in a strategic position as it is the village of Valduggia in the lower Valsesia, in a strategic position as it is only 20km from delightful Lake Orta, 30km from the magnificent Lake Maggiore as well as just 90km from Milan and Switzerland.
Precisely thanks to its historicity and its great charm, as well as its strategic position, it lends itself, thanks to a skilful conservative restoration respecting of the indications given by the superintendency and with its approval, to become, for example, a small, absolutely exclusive accommodation facility as well as a private home of great charm, one of a kind.
