The Palazzo History The whole ground floor of the Palazzo already included storages in the 18th century. In 1840 it was partially renovated and expanded by adding the 2nd and 3rd floor, as well as the roof tower with open windows that was once used as wash and drying room. Today the Palazzo is divided into 3 apartments + storages, it is not a condominium, nor protected by the County Board for Art & Culture

What an ALTANA was: Used to be a roof terrace originated in Venice in the 17th century, where they are still very widespread in antique buildings. It is also called "belvedere", being an architectural structure built in the highest part of the palazzo, in order to allow a wide overview and facilitate wide-ranging views. It is important to point out, however, that the altana differs from terraces and balconies because it does not protrude out of the palazzo roof but it on top of the roof
