Borgo Vecchio. The apartment occupies the ground floor of a mountain building located within walking distance of all the main services. This type of dwelling, like all peasant dwellings in the Alps, originally had foundations and ground floor (used as a warehouse or stable) made of stone, while the first floor, dedicated to the actual house, was made of wood. It is generally surrounded by wooden mezzanines once used to dry agricultural products. The roofs, as in this case, are traditionally covered with "Lose" which guarantee a centuries-old duration. A particular variety of rock with a characteristic dark gray color, widespread in northern Italy and typical of the Western Alps.
Of the original plant, the project retains only the external stone envelope, consolidated and restored. The interior, on the other hand, has been completely revisited with the aim of recovering the basement and creating open environments.
The living room, in the new subdivision, occupies the entire lower floor where, in the center of the room, stands the staircase that connects the sleeping area and functions as an element of separation, albeit partial, between the living room and the kitchen. These two environments that follow one another without solution of continuity and which are united by coordinated finishes, however, have a precise identity. the use of the spaces is more functional. With direct access from the apartment a parking space in the garage with vaulted ceilings.
