STROPPO - Hamlet Bassura
At 1087 meters above sea level Stroppo, thanks to its central position in the valley, has played a primary role in the political and social economy of the area in past centuries. From the 13th century it became the capital of the Confederation of the twelve municipalities of the upper Maira valley, a role never formally recognized. Here, however, the main services could be found, such as taverns with stabling, shops and mills. A hospital was also opened in 1463 which became a leper hospital during plague epidemics. In this town, the middle school with annexed boarding school is still active for the upper and middle valley. In recent years, the architectural recovery of the suggestive villages have made them the destination of a tourism attentive to sustainability and nature.
The proposed solution is located in a quiet and sunny area, a place called Podio, which can be reached all year round via a comfortable paved road. It is a property to be restored which is spread over two levels, free on four sides, which enjoys a fantastic and scenic view of the hamlet of Bassura and the dominant surrounding nature, which creates a truly suggestive context. It consists of a spacious main room of about 27 square meters, all to be invented, shaped to one's liking, and a small and charming room on the lower floor used as a cellar, accessible via rustic internal stairs.
An unmissable opportunity considering the spectacular framework of which it belongs and the great potential it can and is able to offer!
