THE HISTORY OF FUORIGROTTA Together with the Bagnoli district it forms the tenth municipality of the municipality of Naples. The modern history of the neighborhood is the result of urbanization at the end of the nineteenth century and continued massively until the mid-twentieth century. The Quattro Giornate Gallery (between 1882 and 1885), the Cumana Railway (1889) and the Laziale Gallery (1925) were built. Until the fascist era it was an agricultural neighbourhood. During the twenty years notable urban planning interventions were carried out which revolutionized the layout of the neighborhood with the creation of Viale di Augusto and the Mostra d'Oltremare, which is still an important trade fair center today.
