Zogno is located a few kilometers from the renowned and new QC thermal center of San Pellegrino Terme.
Zogno, the small economic and administrative capital of the Brembana Valley is also the most populated valley town. Located about 18 km from the city of Bergamo in front of a plateau surrounded by the river Brembo. Before entering the village coming from the plain, we find on the left the "Grotte delle Meraviglie" real attraction with caves carpeted with stalactites and stalagmites. The historic center of Zogno is well maintained with its narrow alleys and squares, where there are ancient palaces and shops.
Miragolo San Salvatore (Miràguel San Salvadùr in Bergamo dialect) is a fraction of the municipality of Zogno in the province of Bergamo of 60 inhabitants, located on the left side of the Brembana valley on the hill of Mount Castello, in the Orobie; it is 27 km from the Orobic capital and 9 km from the same municipality of Zogno to which it belongs.
The hamlet of Miragolo San Salvatore was included in the canton of Zogno in April 1797 and later united with Somendenna and Miragolo San Marco in March 1798.
The territory also includes the district Scullaro.

Storia
The area where the town stands was inhabited since prehistoric times as evidenced by the finds found in a local cave, called "Büsa dell 'Andrea ".
There are documents dating back to the end of the 12th century which testify to the existence of Zogno as a rural municipality: in the History of Zogno and some neighboring lands of Bortolo Belotti we read that a parchment of the Monastery of Astino of 1220 mentions Giovanni Geze as "Consul" of Zogno.
Zogno became an important center under the domination of Venice. In past centuries the population was mainly used in agriculture, cattle breeding and pastoralism, although there was no lack of craft activities related to the spinning of wool, linen and the weaving of cloths.
In the fraction of Poscante on 18 December 1773 , was born the famous brigand Vincenzo Pacchiana (Pacì Paciana), an Italian Robin Hood who stole from the rich, and gave to the poor, named by his contemporaries: king of the street, king of the mountain. During the nineteenth century, the paper and cement industries took hold. Today thanks to constant development, both in the economic field (for example the Manifattura Valle Brembana, a textile industry that still exists, recently failed) and urban planning, Zogno is the most populous village in the Valley
