All the old huts have a story to tell, but this one has a slightly different one: it was bought in the early 1900s by a Turin woman, an educated and passionate mountain woman who loved to teach music and English to the people of Pragelates. She spent many months a year in this old hut which she managed to transform into a small cultural center where she and her friends, Italian and English who often went to visit her, spent the evenings playing the piano and talking about music, literature and painting. After the purchase, the hut was renovated by the architect Brunati of Turin, making the ground floor and the first and second floors of the older part habitable (dating back to the second half of the 16th century) . A further important renovation dates back to the 70 and fortunately, unlike the fashion of the time, the house was not distorted, but retained all the characteristics typical of the original construction, the comforts of modern life were simply inserted. In fact, one wing of the house was divided into four three-room apartments (plus bathroom and kitchen) already renovated and completely autonomous (first and second floor), while the "pèilo" (so called in the original Franco-Provençal language), a large room, obtained from the old stable, of ca. 145sqm with the classic cross vaulted roof, where two pianos of the time, some collections of old books and two large fireplaces remain testimony to the life and atmosphere that these rooms have transmitted in the past and still transmit. heirs continued to maintain the house without distorting its "soul" and the "authentic" atmosphere that continues to breathe in its rooms and through its ancient walls. The other wing of the house, on the other hand, has not been almost touched, in fact on the ground floor we find the ancient dining room still with the original wooden cover, which is supposed to be from the 16th century and in the adjacent kitchen, we find an ancient stucco on the ceiling representing the sun, precisely the symbol of the Sun King (Louis XIV). On the first floor there is an apartment with a characteristic loggia where the landlady lived and on the second floor an additional apartment. These rooms require some renovation work. Eventually throughout the house you can recover the various attic areas. A part of the property also all the land / garden surrounding the house, with a part still building.
